Open Position: Scientist Drug development
BIMINI Biotech has developed a portfolio of proprietary small-molecule WASP modulators that have demonstrated promising anti-cancer activity in leukemia and lymphoma models as well as autoimmune diseases. To support the expansion of our preclinical pipeline, we are looking for a (biomedical) scientist with strong experience in cell biology and assay development.
As a (senior) scientist, you will contribute to the experimental development and validation of our portfolio, taking the programs from preclinical to clinical development. You will design and execute cellular and biochemical assays to evaluate the activity and mechanism of action of our compounds. You will work closely with BIMINI’s internal team and international collaborators in academia and industry.
Your role:
- Design, develop, and perform cell-based functional assays to evaluate compound activity;
- Perform and optimize biochemical and mechanistic assays related to cytoskeleton dynamics and signaling pathways;
- Maintain and culture relevant cancer cell lines, immune cells and primary cells;
- Evaluate compound activity using cell viability, proliferation, migration, and signaling assays;
- Support the development and validation of new experimental models relevant to leukemia, lymphoma and autoimmune diseases;
- Analyze experimental data and provide scientific interpretation of results;
- Document experimental procedures and maintain high-quality laboratory records;
- Contribute to project progress reports and scientific presentations;
- Collaborate with external partners within international research consortia;
- Lead independent experiment design and overcome potential scientific challenges;
- Support preparation of new non-dilutive funding applications;
- Act in a cross functional team setting;
Your profile:
- PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field;
- Hands-on experience with cell culture and cellular assays;
- Experience with biochemical or mechanistic assays (e.g., enzyme assays, signaling assays)
- Experience with assay development or assay optimization is highly desirable;
- Knowledge of oncology, immunology, or cytoskeleton biology is a plus;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to work both independently and in a multidisciplinary team;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English;
- A proactive mindset with an entrepreneurial and solution-driven attitude;
What we offer?
You will become part of the BIMINI Biotech team, where you will work closely together with the management team and network partners. You will work in a dynamic environment where you will experience all aspects of drug development and you can make a real impact.
At BIMINI Biotech we offer:
